What is Red Light Therapy?

Red Light Therapy uses red and near-infrared light at specific wavelengths to support cellular function. The science is in the early-but-promising stage for things like muscle recovery, joint pain, skin texture, and sleep quality.

At The Health Studio, you will have a private booth with a high-quality red light panel. Sessions run for 12 to 20 minutes. You can do it before or after a massage or reformer session, or as a stand-alone visit.

We are not making medical claims. We are saying that many of our clients tell us they feel calmer, sleep better, and recover faster from training when they use it consistently.

Common questions

How long does a session take?
12 to 20 minutes under the lights, plus a few minutes either side.
Is it safe?
Yes, when used as directed. We provide eye shields. People with light-sensitive medications or conditions should check with their doctor first.
Do I need to wear anything?
As much or as little skin exposure as you are comfortable with. The booth is private.
How often can I do it?
Most clients do 3 to 5 sessions a week when they are targeting a specific outcome.
Can I do it before or after a massage?
Yes. Many clients pair the two.
Can pregnant women use it?
Check with your obstetrician first. We are cautious in the first trimester.
Are there any side effects?
Most people feel nothing, or warm and relaxed. Stop and speak to us if anything feels off.
How is this different from a sauna or sunbed?
Different mechanism. Red light therapy uses specific wavelengths at low intensity. It is not heat-based, and it does not tan or burn.
